Suggest Ways To Wean Off Addiction For Ambien Pills

Hi, My father is addicted to Ambien. He has been taking them for about 7 years. He recieves 30 pills the first of every month, by the 10th-15th of the month all of them are gone. He abuses them every month and will fall down the stairs or stay up all night high. I have talked to his family doctor and he would not do anything because he said it should be a family talk. What else can I do? Who should I call?
