Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Teacher of mine had heart attack in the middle of the night. Wife woke to find him not breathing and an ambulance arrived quickly and he was revived. Doctors put him into an induced coma to help his body recover, now he is in a comatose or vegetative state, I'm not sure. He moves his eyes and blinks, yawns, has a working gag reflex and reactive pupils and his feet respond to stimulus. He was taken out of the induced coma two days ago and has only shown minor, insignificant improvements. What is the outlook on his situation? Could he improve and how long could it potentially take?
