Thank you. My mother, age 89, was recently given an increase (to 30mg) in her Buspar to help with anxiety. She has vascular dementia and can get overly focused on where she is going and why things are happening around her. a psychiatrist increased the BusPar from 20-30mg about 2 weeks ago. Now the caregivers in her board and care want to increase it again and also add another anxiety medication to keep her calmer during the day and help her sleep at night. Her psychiatrist says wait a full month before changing the medication. We have spent many hours with my mom in the past week and have not seen the aggressive anxious outbursts they are observing. They have asked us to consider moving her to our home or allowing them to use much stronger medication. Do you have any advice for us?
