Thank You For Your Follow-up Interest. My Wife Still Has Drop

Thank you for your follow-up interest. My wife still has drop foot and pain that is not controlled by morphine or generic gabapentin. You suggesed lyrica (pregabalin). Our Doctor prescribed gabapentin which is not always controlling the pain especially at night and makes her anxious( 200mg.- 3 times per day ).Should we switch to pregabalin?
She had an ultrasound on Dec.25/15 and Jan.11/16. Both showed a blood clot below the knee which has not moved. Our family Doctor has her on warfarin to keep INR between 2.0 and 3.0. She takes 2mg.of warfarin per day and 3mg. on Monday and Wednesday. Last week the orthopaedic surgeon suggested that she could stop taking warfarin as the clot is below the knee and has not moved. What would you recommend about taking warfarin?
She still has pain on the front and left side of her shin. The top of her foot and calf feel numb. The bottom of her foot has some feeling.
She still cannot move her foot toward her knee. She can wiggle her toes. Is there anything we can do to stimulate the sciatic nerve to resolve the foot drop problem? Is there any vitamin or herb that would help the nerves to heal or acupuncture? She is doing 10 small exercises given to her by the physiotherapist. She is able to walk with a walker, foot brace and velcro strap shoes and put full weight on her left leg. Is the nite splint or foot drop splint you referred to the same as the plastic brace with velcro strap that she wears to walk with?
Do you think the pain will become less with time?
Your interest and advice are much appreciated. Thank you.
