Thanks; 87 Yr., Old Good Husband Suffered A Compression Fracture

Thanks; 87 yr., old good husband suffered a compression fracture of L1 in a recent fall. He is in the hospital, being given Percocet. I'm researching side- effects. His mental acuity is diminished; that concerns me a lot! Also, he is constipated and hurting mentally & physically with that. Since this is a common consequence, I'm dismayed that precautions against this are not taken beforehand.
