Thanks! My Friend Had A Hip Replacement And Now Seems

Thanks! My friend had a hip replacement and now seems to have fluid in the joint and in her leg. She lives in Canada and cannot get an appointment to have the fluid drained and tested for 2-3 weeks. It's painful and she says the fluid has gone down to her lower leg, which is very painful now. Is there anything she can do for relief? She can't have cortisone until the fluid is tested.
