The Area Around The Top Of My Butt Crack Seems

The area around the top of my butt crack seems to be red and swollen. I originally thought it could be a cyst. The knot popped up some time yesterday and has sense become so tender that it even hurts to sit. Advil seems to help ease the pain. But I was wondering if there was any way at all that I could cure this without having to see a dr? My regular dr is booked solid through April.
