The Bone Behind My Ear (on Right Side) Is Quite

The bone behind my ear (on right side) is quite a bit bigger then on the other side. I've been doing a little bit of googling and came upon "mastoid process"..... I would like to know if this is something to be concerned about. Every once in a while (every few months on so) I have a very odd pulsating / sharp pain coming from it as well....
