The Left Side Of My Throat Hurts. It's Just This

The left side of my throat hurts. It's just this side that hurts. It's a little uncomfortable to swallow. When I woke up this morning the pain was at it's worse,but throughout the day it's eased off. My coworker asked me to stick my tongue out (she said maybe my tonsils were swollen) when I did stick it out it hurt. Almost feels like a pulling pain. It does kinda feel like it's kinda thicker on one side of my mouth than the other.
