The Other Night I Noticed A Lump On My Left

The other night i noticed a lump on my left side of knee in crease. It was painless until tonight, also followed by redness and swelling. I iced it for 15 minutes and the swelling went down but still feel a sharp pain through my knee down. Any ideas on what this could be?
