The Punctum (as Google Has Told Me It's Called) On

The punctum (as Google has told me it's called) on my left eye has been swollen and sore for 3 days now. No drainage or excess tears, just tender, swollen, and reddened. Research has told me this is due to inflammation, possibly caused by one of many things. My question is will it go away on its own, what can I do at home, and when do I seek treatment?
