The Right Side Of My Throat Feels Inflamed, There Is

The right side of my throat feels inflamed, there is a lump. It has been there for about a year but more painful of late. I also have a persistently sore throat and earache. The earache was put down to water behind the eardrums, but the whole area from ear to throat feels inflamed. The lump in my throat is very tender to touch compared to the left side and my pulse there very pronounced. I don't like seeing doctors as suffer from anxiety but do I need to go?
