Theres This Tiny Little Dot, Dark Purple Redish Color, Under

Theres this tiny little dot, dark purple redish color, under my thumb nail. It showed up two years ago in the middle of my nail. It has now progressed to nearly the end of my nail (the part where the nail is no longer connected to the skin) and I'm just curious about what it is. There's no pain or anything.
