This has happened to me 2-3 times over several years.
Middle of the night, awake to mild GI discomfort. Over the span of 30-60 minutes this will progress to moderate to severe discomfort, 1-2 bouts of diarea, and heavy sweating breaks out. This entire episode lasts less than an hour, then passes without further incident and when over, it is as if nothing ever happened, wash up back to bed without incident
