This Is Not A Medical Question. I'm A Med Student

This is not a medical question. I'm a med student writing up a synopsis of a hospital visit wherein an alcoholic presented to the ER and vomited 3x each time contained blood. I want to use the word hematemesis (or a derivative thereof) in a sentence and do not know how to properly. (i.e. " the man ______ three times.")
