This Morning My Mom Notice What Looked Like A Piece

This morning my mom notice what looked like a piece of gum covering my infants front tooth. I can't tell if my infants tooth fell out or if the piece of gum that's hanging is covering the tooth. In the morning if was red but now it's 5pm it's hanging lower and now it's purple. I'm scared of what it can be. Help please.
