This Past October I Had A Ruptured Appendix And Was

This past October I had a ruptured appendix and was hospitalized for a week. It is now the end of January and I recently noticed a bulge around my navel area where an incision was made. I was told ( I haven't seen my primary doctor yet) it looks and feels like a hernia. Could this be the reason for my hernia, if that is what it is? My stomach has been feeling upset ever since the surgery.
