Today I Came On My Period And I Plugged In

Today I came on my period and I plugged in a tampon before I went to school. When I went to change it I noticed I had only pads so I took the tampon out, wiped good and applied the pad. But since then I have been having soreness down there & a feeling of airiness. Should I feel like this?
