Total Cholesterol 242, LDL 168, HDL 47, Triglycerides 137. CT Calcium score3 5.2 (minimal plaque burden). I am a 50 y/o female 5/2" 200 lbs. w/h/o rheumatic fever as a child, borderline hypertension, family history of CAD (father died from MI at age 56; brother diagnosed with CAD at age 59, doing well). Physician is recommending a statin along with lifestyle changes. Researching before I decide to begin a statin drug. Thank you.
