Twice In The Last Week I Have Had A Bite

Twice in the last week I have had a bite looks like a small red dot but periodically it feels like an electrical shock going through the area around it. Today I was watering my climbing vine and last time I was in bed and turned over. We live in Alamogordo, New Mexico. It is almost on the Mexican border .
