Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Two days ago I was sitting and picked up about a 5 pound rock. As I began to get up, I stumbled and fell with the rock. My left index finger was twisted and crushed under the rock as I landed with my other hand on the rock. The pain at the tip of the finger was pretty intense for about 10 minutes. The pain mostly subsided in about ten minutes; however, my entire finger is probably twice the size of normal. I am able to type without much pain, but movement is limited due to the swelling. Is this something that would require medical attention? I am a little confused because there isn't much pain, just some discomfort.
