Two Hours Ago I Cut My Ring Finger While Removing

Two hours ago I cut my ring finger while removing an avocado pit. Small cut about 1/4" long in the middle of finger on inside between first an second knuckle slightly on right side. But the depth of cut may be also be about a 1/4". Bleeding stopped fairly quickly keeping my hand raised up. My finger is now numb above the cut from knuckle to tip right side of finger only. Is it possible I cut the nerve and numbness will remain? I play flute and saxophone. The cut is already beginning to heal but I've never experienced numbness like this.
