Two Weeks Ago I Experienced A Severe Sharp Pain In

Two weeks ago I experienced a severe sharp pain in my right calf while shopping. It was so bad that I had to crouch on the floor. I was finished shopping so I hobbled to my car. My calf hurt for a few days while each day it was getting better. Now I have pain in my right rib cage & some shortness of breath. Should I get it checked out? I'm having out patient surgery in a week and all my pre-testing was fine. Bloodwork, EKG, chest X-ray.
