Two Years In A Row Multiple Broken Ribs Last Year

Two years in a row multiple broken ribs last year only saw three on X-ray the others were picked up on bone scan. Could the other spots be bone lesions and not breaks? I am dealing with the VA and kind of nervous this is second year this has happened. Should I be concerned about this I am 42 well fit male so I thought. I was diagnosed with a parasite picked up in Somalia in 1993.
