Under My Ring I Had Some Itchy Bumbs Develop About

Under my ring I had some itchy bumbs develop about 3 weeks ago. I quit wearing my ring for a couple of weeks and it improved. It seemed to have healed up. Then I wore it for 1 day and the itchy bumps developed again. I have had a pretty bad cold in between as well. I am a 50 years old woman and I did have a case of shingles when I was 36. I have been wearing this ring constantly for 3 years previous, it is white gold. It is that drive you crazy kind of itch.
