Wanted To Ask A Nurse A Question. My Mother Is

Wanted to ask a nurse a question. My mother is 78 years old. Osteoporosis diabetes, depression ect. They hesitated to give her a hip replacement but finally did. This was done a year ago and after taking tramidil for so long I know it's not good for the osteoporosis but she claims she's in pain. Told her to give up the tramidol and go to a doctor. She refuses but insists on the tramidol. I get upset as I think tramidol puts her out and that's all she does is sleep or complain. Does she need a follow up with a doc or am I correct in believing she's addicted to tramidol? And what side affects does tramidol have?
