Was Just Wondering If Taking Tums Would Affect My Blood

Was just wondering If taking tums would affect my blood suger levels I had my first glucose test in September and it came back clear at that point I was using gaviscon for my heartburn but that got to expensive so changed to tums then I had to have anouther glucose test and it came back a rise and been told I've got pregnancy diabeties and have to check my suger levels everyday I took a tum before my finger prick test and it came back 9.4 so I stopped taking tums and it hasn't gone up that high again it's been lower than 7
