We Were Trying To Concieve For The Past Three Months.

We were trying to concieve for the past three months. But each time my periods came late (8 and 11 days late than the latter). Last month it was 24 days late and still not started my period. We did a home pregnanct test which came out negatv. So we consulted a doctor (the serum test was also negatv) who prescribed me primolut N for 5 days. The 8th day my period started and it was normal.
My question is- can i try conceiving this month during ovulation? If i have PCOS will the egg released this month be healthy? I am a bit worried because the doctor said to use protection when i was on primolut. Why is that.
