What Are The Chances For Closed Heart Hole To Reopen?

i was born with a herat hole, however it closed at the age of 10.now at 23 I have started suffering continuous pain on the left side.The ECG suggests minimum changes in th eheart rate and the doctor has suggested for a 3D echo.Could there be a chance of the hole reopened ?
