What Are The Chances Of Recovery Post Massive Stroke?

It's been one year since my friend had a massive stoke.. She is able to talk, eat, walk with a cane, but loses it sometimes when you try to have a conversation. Her right side is effected and cannot move her hand. Will she fully recover? How long can it take?
