Hi! I am 83. My doctor suggests that I have thyroid surgery because of my enlarged thyroid. I have been treated for thyroid disease for many years due to a nodule on my thyroid. I have been taking synthroid for many years. There is no cancer. What are the after effects after surgical removal? How long is post operation recovery?
