What Are The Effects Of Hydrocodone Withdrawal?

I am looking on information on how to visit with my doc about taper down on pain meds hydrocodone. Over 16 years low back lumbar disc herniated/ spinal stenosis/chronic back pain/ previous back surgery 5 years ago. Don't want to be on meds anymore, been taking Hydrocodone 5/325 &recently lower doses. Extremely worried about withdrawals, and other side effects. What is the best path to take to get me off this medication. I have suffered more damage to lower limbs hips, etc due to waiting 20 years to have back surgery.
