What Are The Episodes Of My Skin Turning Red That Sometimes Itches?

Hi Doc. occasionally i will have red patches on skin and within a few seconds they dissappear. sometimes its itchy and sometimes its not. In fact sometimes i am not aware that the skin turns red in patches until someone tells me. Is it hive? what is hive? this has been happening for the past couple of years. where in trv can i go for treatment?
