What Are The Ill Effects Of Decreasing Dialysis?

what would you do with a patient who thinks they can decrease dialysis and is having symptoms of being uremic but doesn't understand he is cutting his dialysis to short. I don't think he is making good decisions based on the fact of his symptoms. Confusion, weak, shaky, memory loss,etc. I guess I'm trying to come up with a way to help him figure out that he needs more dialysis and shorting himself is what is making him more ill. How do you know whether it's from not doing enough dialysis or if he is just going downhill from his stage 5 ESKD?
