What Are The Open Sores On Top Of Toes?

Last night found open sores on top of two toes as a result of wearing gel foam with covering. Was trying to keep that from happening because Medicare shoe was rubbing toes. It did not work. Toes deep red to purple with red flush spreading across top of foot. I am diabetic. I want to wait until I can see podiatry dr in am. Daughter wants me to go to ER now. I m thinking I need antibiotics but can t it wait until tomorrow?
