What Are The Problems Associated With Bladder Collapse?

Hi, My husband had surgery on his lumbar spine for stenosis. He was left with urinary incontinence. He has an indwelling catheter. A recent ultrasound shows his bladder is collapsed onto the folley inflated ball. He complaines of saddle pain. We are trying to schedule an MRI. He is in a wheelchair and can not walk. What are the dangers of this bladder collapse?
