What Are The Red Raised Rashes In The Groin Spreading To Arm Pit?

My 4 year old son red raised patches covering the area where his underwear touches. Now some are starting to appear in his armpit and belly. At night they are bright red in the morning dry and colorless and flaky. He says they do not itch. It looks awful.
