What Are The Side Effects Of Epinephrine?

My son had an anaphylactic reaction to peanuts and was given 3mg of epinephrine at the ER. His BP went through the roof heart rate too. Given a CT scan ten sent to cardiac unit when all his EKG were bad. It was horrible he has had headaches off and on since. Is this type of overdose a normal occurrence?
