What Are The Side Effects Of Pantoprazole SOD 40mg? I've

What are the side effects of pantoprazole SOD 40mg? I've been taking it for several years. One Doctor wants me to stop because she thinks it might be affecting my kidneys. I did stop about a week ago and have experiences two bad nights, burping, chest pain, very uncomfortable most all night. Does the benefit outweigh the damage it might do to my kidneys. I'm 93 and in reasonably good health.
