What Are The Side Effects Of Taking Statins For Diabetes?

Thank you. I was hoping to get Endocrinolgist s opinion on my taking statins for 2+ years now. My Diabetes Type 2 was well controlled when I started this Rx. Within months my HgbA1C was elevated from 6.5 to 7.2 I was started on Jentaduetto 2.5/1.0 bid. Last month, HgbA1C was 8.2. Because my LDL was 52 my MD lowered dose of Simvastatin to half of a 40 mgm tablet--Then switched my Rx to Pravastatin 40 mgm because my severe foot & leg cramps did not go away. A recent Medscape article sees a larger risk for acquiring bDiabetes type 2 with statins. Isn t it reasonable to infer that Diabetes control could be complicated by long term statin use?
