What Are The Symptoms Of UTI?

I have had for several weeks a painful pulling/cramping pain that is located more in the front but often completely wrapping around the upper inside section of my hip bone. also, my urine seems too dark with almost a brownish hue. but I do not have the feeling of a constant full bladder, or pain or discomfort when I urinate. I also have quite a large cyst on my kidney. two questions, could this be a UTI without the more common symptoms ( I have had a few UTI s in the past and usually have the symptoms that I do not have now)? Also, most medical people I have asked have said that there is NOT pain with a cyst on the kidney, my urologist said it is very rare, is this true? if so, why?
