There is controversy in the mental health field regarding pediatric bipolar disorder. Whether or not it's termed mood disorder or bipolar, the child had mood swings/mania, tantrums, perseverance in getting his/her own way, all causing chaos in the home. Would this disorder - mood disorder or bipolar - require the same drug treatment? What medication(s) would be prescribed for treatment?
