What Are The Withdrawal Effects Of Eliquis?

I am to have knee replacement surgery and have been told by my surgeon to get off Eliquis (5 mg. 2X day) 5 days before surgery. My cardiologist seems to think 3 days off is enough. When I looked online, I saw a statement that said you can have a stroke if you suddenly stop. these differing opinions worry me. What should I do? GG Hawaii
