What Can Be The Cause For The Sudden Severe Pain Above The Ear?

Im a 42 male, no major health problems.past 4 days have been having constant severe pain above left ear and occassionly radiate down to tooth. OTC meds have decreased it some but comes back. Today starting having strong then dull pain, and now severe painful head pressure, almost like when taking off in an airplane.
