What Can Cause Puss In Cervix?

Hello, I recently went to an ob-gyn and he found out that there was pus in my cervix what would be the main reason pus would be present in my cervix? I know my ex-boyfriend was sleeping around behind my back, so I would like to know what STD could be present.
