What Can My Husband Do To Relieve A Sore, Burning Throat From Inhaling Paint Fumes?

Hi. My husband spent all weekend painting the bathroom with eggshell paint. He masked the tiles with sheets of polythene. Last night he developed a very sore, burning throat and roof of his mouth ? Due to inhalation of fumes. What can and should he now do to relieve his symptoms?
