What Causes 40 Follicles In The Left Ovary?

I have pco at my latest internal ultra sound they found my right ovary has a vol of 8.9cc and contains at least 24 follicles and my left is larger with a vol of 13.7cc and contains approx 40 follicles, my endometrial layer is 6mm thick and there is free fluid in the pouch of douglas greater than normal esimated at a vol of 17cc. What does this all mean.
