What Causes A Brownish Scab On The Skin After A Burn?

I am a 15 year old female. Two and a half weeks ago, I burned my neck on a curling iron. After I pulled the curling iron away, there was raised skin that I stupidly peeled off. That created an open burn. When it was an open burn I kept polysporin on it and in a week, it scabbed over with a brownish/redish scab. The scab peeled off and revealed a shiny pink skin, is this a scar? Or has the burn not fully healed? What should I do next?
