What Causes A Burning Sensation On The Back Of The Neck?

Hello I have been having a burning sensation on the back of my neck for a while now.It feels like it's a sunburn but there is nothing there and now I'm having a choking sensation as well. I have been to a neurologist but he told me that there is nothing wrong.
