What Causes A Circular Dry Depression On The Palm Side Of Finger?

Hello, I have a circular dry depression on the palm side of my finger. It is like a depression (quite visible) and the surface skin does not grow over it, it is like a hole in the surface skin.The hole itself is dry and flaky at times, and when the flakes are pealed off there are brown/ red pinpoints that can be seen deep below. When wet, the wound is open like a flower and the red spots belows are clearly visible. Could you please help. Thanks
